1st Guru of Sikhs. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in 1469. Guru's Parents were Kalyan Chand Das Bedi and Mata Tripta Ji. Elder Sister : Bebe Nanaki Ji. Guru's Wife: Bibi Sulakhani Ji. Sons : Baba Sri Chand Ji and Baba Lakhami Das Ji Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the founder of Sikhism. Guru Ji's father wanted Guru Ji to be a trader and thus gave 20 rupees and asked to use the given money to strike some good and profitable business. Instead of doing so, Guru Ji, bought food with the money, and distributed everything among the sadhus and poor people, who had not eaten anything for days. When Guru Ji's father asked him what happened to the money? He replied that He had done a "True Business" by feeding the hungry men. Today, at the place where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had fed the poor, stands a Gurdwara named, Sacha Sauda. Guru Nanak Dev Ji believed in "Equality" and thus was founder of a community kitchen, "Langar" where all sat together in row, regardless of caste or status, and ate the same food.
