2nd Guru of Sikhs. Guru Angad Dev Ji was born in 1504. Guru's Parents were Bhai Pheru Mall and Mata Ramo Ji. Guru's Wife: Mata Khivi Ji. Sons : Baba Dasu Ji and Baba Dattu Ji and Daughters : Bibi Amro Ji and Bibi Anokhi Ji. Guru Angad Dev Ji was first called Bhai Lehna Ji. And got the name "Angad" after receiving "Guruship" from Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1539. Guru Angad Dev Ji introduced "Gurumukhi" script. Also Known for "Nishkam Sewa", Selfless Service to humanity. Completely surrender to the Will of God. A great example of "Obedience", devotion and love toward God. Took great interest in "Educating" the children. Guru Ji also introduced schools and thus strengthened the teachings. Also started "Akhara", where physical exercises were held. Guru Ji believed in "Equality" and thus establishing a community kitchen where all sat together in row, regardless of caste or status, and ate the same food. Also known as "Langar" every Gurudwara has this and everyone is welcome.
